Music Festival Stewards - Umbrella Fair Festival

Come and get involved with the most exciting, unique festival of the summer right here in Northampton.  The Umbrella Fair is a local community event being held on Saturday 7th August at The Racecourse, Northampton and will bring together a diverse range of people to perform, dance, sing and play! Volunteers are needed for the following roles: stewarding, site crew, marquee assistants, volunteer recruiters, plus many more!

Blood Pressure Data Management Volunteer – Stroke Association (Northampton)  

This role provides administrative support to the Know Your Blood Pressure campaign.  The role will mainly consist of data entry into Know Your Blood Pressure national database (Excel spreadsheet.)  The role will also require the ability to create reports from the data. This is a part time role of approximately 20 hours per week for four week periods.

Helpers – The Boys Brigade  

Volunteers are needed to help out at the various Boys Brigade groups in the Northampton area. The children and young people who attend get involved in a huge range of exciting activities and adventures, from first aid, abseiling, circus skills, and much more. As a volunteer you can take an active part in some of these fun and exciting activities. Or you can simply help organise activities with the children and young people.

Teaching Young People to Cook Volunteer – Northamptonshire YMCA  

Volunteers with knowledge and experience of preparing balanced meals are needed to teach and encourage young people to cook sensibly for themselves. The role involves encouraging young people to cook tasty, healthy meals on a budget and give useful tips on quick meals. Also to advise residents on healthy eating, ingredients, budget shopping and health and hygiene issues around meal preparation. Volunteers will run a 4 week course, for 2 hours a week. Northamptonshire YMCA also has various other interesting and varied volunteering opportunities available.

Ebay Fundraiser – The Lowdown  

A keen individual is needed who has experience of buying and selling on Ebay. Duties are mainly: promotion on site : gaining items, photographing items, providing descriptions of items, uploading items and keeping an eye on the auctions, answering any emails from potential buyers and ensuring safe delivery of items. You will need general IT skills, experience of Ebay and the internet for this role.

County Admin and Support Co-ordinator – Northamptonshire Crimestoppers 

A confident individual is needed for flexible cover (approx 5 hour per week) to provide a focal point within the Corporate Communications Department at Police HQ. 

Tasks will include:  liaising with relevant police personnel to promote and monitor Crimestoppers publicity, controlling and managing publicity materials, making initial contact and setting up meetings with potential partners/donors, routine correspondence on behalf of Crimestoppers, to ensure prompt dissemination of performance data to relevant parties, keeping contact records as required, attend quarterly committee meetings. Applicants should be self motivated, computer literate with sound administrative experience. Organising ability is essential.

Befriending Volunteers – Age Concern Northamptonshire  

This organisation are looking for self-motivated volunteers who have the confidence to work independently, befriending older people who are experiencing loneliness.   Befriending can take the form of visiting them in their own homes, or assisting to the local supermarket, walking in the local park or accompanying to events. Currently volunteers are needed in the Kingsthorpe and Duston areas to visit an older, lonely person, once a week for 2 hrs max.

Youth Club Workers – Northampton Borough Council (Cliftonville)  

Youth club workers are required for Abington Youth Club on Tuesdays from 6.30pm to 8pm. The youth club caters for 10-16 year olds and provides a variety of activities including dodgeball, football, dance, arts and crafts.  

If you have interest in other areas that the young people could get involved in then they will be happy to incorporate them into their regular activities.

Trustees - Northampton Hope Centre

Northampton Hope Centre are looking trustees to support their organisation. The Hope Centre welcomes and supports homeless people.  They may have drug or alcohol related issues, physical and mental health issues or may be generally down on their luck.

You could change your life and the lives of others by helping this Charity. People with management skills, knowledge of marketing and fundraising or HR experience would be an advantage for this position.
